Celebrating the life of Ty

A memorial was held at The Piedmont Grand Opera House for Alexander Tyrone “Ty” Merriweather, who had spent years as the facility’s production guru. Although his title was Assistant Technical Director, anyone who encountered Ty backstage knew he was much more than that. This “gentle giant” truly loved his work, and would go to great lengths to ensure every performance was top-notch. He was a beloved member of the Nutcracker crew, and will be greatly missed.
