Capital Campaign

Home / Capital Campaign

Dear Community Supporters and Friends,

As you may know, Nutcracker has recently purchased a home located on 117 Orange Street in Macon. Because of the generosity of our contributors and grantors, we were able to procure the building free of any debt obligation.

Now, we begin the capital campaign to renovate the building. We have the goal of occupying it this summer, which will put us ahead of our cast auditions in September. Our summer goal would also allow us to rehearse our cast for the 10 weekends leading up to the 2021 production, which will run from December 8 through December 12 at the Grand Opera House.

Thanks to Tony Long and the experience he has gained over the past few decades, we will be able to tap into a reservoir of skilled craftsman that are essential for renovations. In addition to paying for that expertise, we must purchase two very expensive “sprung” dance floors for the two rehearsal studios. Lastly, we will also need to buy the other items necessary to create a usable dance space in the Jean Evans Weaver Center for Dance, otherwise known as the new, permanent home of Nutcracker of Middle Georgia Inc.

We hope that you will financially support our Board of Directors in this effort. A pledge form is included with this letter. NMG is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt arts organization.

Thank you for your support,

Alice Sheridan
Artistic Director
