Nutcracker of Middle Georgia

Each year, hundreds of dancers from the Middle Georgia community audition for the Nutcracker production. Audition times/locations and casting requirements may be downloaded here:

Saturday, September 16, 2017
10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Location: Wesleyan College, Porter Auditorium - 4760 Forsyth Road, Macon
Fee: $10 Registration Fee
Roles: Males auditioning for Prince and Soldier Doll; Dancers on pointe including Clara, Spanish, Chinese, Marzipan, Flowers, Snow, Columbine, and Harlequin
This audition will be held as a master class and the entire audition will be on pointe. Please notice that Snow now will be auditioned as a pointe role. Performers will be notified by email with audition results.

2017 Pointe Roles Audition Info (PDF)

9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Location: Stratford Academy, Henry Tift Auditorium - 6010 Peake Road, Macon
Fee: $10 Registration Fee
Roles: Little Girls, Jesters, Angels, Toy Soldiers, Little Boys, Fritz, Calvary, Mice, Maids, Heralds, Dragons, Jack-in-the-Box (gymnast) and all adult roles for Act I (Ladies, Gentlemen, Date, Young Soldier, Rats)
Casting lists for roles will be announced following each audition.

Parent Meeting
2 p.m.
Location: Stratford Academy, Main Cafeteria - 6010 Peake Road, Macon
Parents of cast members are required to attend a Parent Meeting for a detailed briefing of the 2017 production. Please note that with the changes to this year’s production and staff, it is suggested that all parents, newly cast and returning performers, make every effort to attend this session.

AUDITION GUIDELINES

Those interested in the upcoming production must adhere to these guidelines:

  • Registration begins 30 minutes prior to audition times.
  • Everyone auditioning must be 8 years old as of September 1, 2017.
  • Girls auditioning for the part of a Little Girl must be 10 years old as of September 1, 2017.
  • All girls auditioning must be currently enrolled in a dance school.
